Ten years of celebrating dyslexic minds.
2026 marks our 10th anniversary — and once again the Dyslexia Awards are open for nominations from across the United Kingdom and the Channel Islands.
The Dyslexia Awards exist to celebrate, highlight and positively showcase the strengths, talents and achievements of dyslexic individuals — the qualities that are so often overlooked in education, work and everyday life.
Today, the Awards shine a bright light on the innovation, creativity, resilience and brilliance within the dyslexic community. They have created a powerful positive ripple effect: boosting confidence, challenging outdated perceptions, and giving dyslexic role models the recognition they deserve.
How the Awards began
Founded in 2015 by Elizabeth Wilkinson MBE — who is dyslexic herself — the Awards grew from a vision she had held for many years. Elizabeth began working in the dyslexia field in 1999 and has spent decades campaigning, advocating and supporting dyslexics.
Through her work as The Dyslexic Dyslexia Consultant (est. 2007) and the Dyslexia Information Day (est. 2008), she became determined to counterbalance the negativity, confusion and shame that many people experience around a dyslexia diagnosis. The Dyslexia Awards were created to change that story — and to put dyslexic strengths firmly in the spotlight.
“The Dyslexia Awards have created a positive ripple across the UK that I never expected. Our nominees, finalists and winners show every year that dyslexics can and do achieve incredible things. Dyslexia can be a superpower — and when we celebrate our strengths, there are no limits.”
The Dyslexia Awards remain proudly not-for-profit, made possible only through the ongoing support of our amazing sponsors, partners, local businesses and individuals.
Your encouragement keeps the Awards shining with positivity, purpose and a genuine "can-do" spirit.
Thank you for helping us celebrate dyslexia and champion lasting, positive change.
